Owner/Coach
I believe that the road to becoming a better ballplayer begins with a passion for the game. With that passion comes the desire to learn and perform at the levels you aspire to reach. I want to help you reach those goals.
Baseball for me started with my mother signing me up for Tee Ball at age 6, more so as an activity to keep me busy while soccer was not in session. Little did she know how strong my passion for baseball would quickly become after my first season of hitting, throwing and catching a tiny ball. In the beginning, my mother knew very little about this sport her son would grow to love but she made sure that I was afforded every opportunity to excel. I would continue playing baseball in high school and through college before taking on a new role in my baseball career.
After college, my high school baseball coach asked if I would like to come out and help coach with him on Varsity. I jumped at the opportunity and have been coaching at Eleanor Roosevelt High School since 2002. For me, coaching is a very rewarding experience. I find joy in being a mentor, coach, and positive role model for the student-athletes I get to work with year in and year out.
Coaching wasn’t the end of the line for me with baseball. Although I didn’t crack the lineups of any Major or Minor League Ballclubs, I have been very active and involved playing in as many as 4 adult baseball leagues during the summer. The techniques and skills I try to instill in my players come from tried and true methods I have gathered and implemented myself while playing. Along the way I have met several coaches from different high schools and colleges that have called upon me to help their players develop as well.
While I have “built catchers from scratch” in the past, I like to observe the players swing or defensive mechanics in order to find where I feel they can improve the process or action that may be holding them back. Let’s face it, every player is different, whether it’s because of size, strength, throwing arm etc. I’m not here to build replicas of myself, rather I aim to provide adults and children the tools and experiences to make a bigger impact between the lines.
